KITCHENS

Helping you create your dream kitchen is a specialty of Carter’s Carpentry & Joinery. This is thanks to several years of specialist kitchen fitting expertise.

Kitchen services include:

  • Taking out your old kitchen
  • Fitting all of your new units
  • Cutting in new kitchen worktops

Many kitchen projects require carpentry help to fit off-the-shelf, shop-bought kitchens. But, Carter’s can also work with you to create a bespoke kitchen. Carter’s will work together with all other parties – plumber, plasterer, tiler etc. This helps make your new kitchen project run as smoothly as possible.

In a dream world, we would hear from you as soon as you start thinking about your new kitchen. But, it’s also fine to get in touch if you have already ripped your old kitchen out and need help.

BESPOKE JOINERY

Bespoke joinery services at Carter’s include anything that can be custom-made: wooden doors, units, shelving, windows, stairs, you name it.

Bespoke joinery is ideal when you simply can’t buy the exact thing you’d like. You may have an awkwardly sized space, uneven walls, or a tricky alcove to fit. Through bespoke joinery, Carter’s can custom-build something that looks like it’s always been there and belongs.

The most popular material for joinery projects is painted or veneered MDF. It is budget-friendly, and usually means you have the flexibility to re-paint in the future. If you have a project planned that calls for solid wood – e.g. an expansive wooden worktop for your kitchen – this can also be discussed. Carter’s has great quality sources for a variety of wood types.

Contact Carter’s and we can talk through all the possibilities together.

CARPENTRY

Carpentry at Carter’s includes a full range of fitting and fixing services. Many of these fall under what’s known as ‘first fix’ or ‘second fix’. First fix refers to all the structural work – the essential framework for your home! Second fix is everything that finishes your home off and is more visible to the eye.

First fix services offered include: studwork, floating floors, staircases, windows, door frames.

Second fix services offered include: internal doors, architraves, skirtings, mouldings, fitting floor boards.

It is quite common for people to have amassed a long list of carpentry requirements! If so, Carter’s will be happy to work with you on a longer contract to cut your home ‘to-do’ list to zero.

REFURBISHMENTS

Planning a refurbishment of your home – or garden – is an exciting and major project. It is also something to try and make as stress-free as possible! Carter’s can help with your complete, bringing together carpentry and joinery services.

Refurbishment services offered include: ripping down walls and taking out kitchens. All structural and decorative installation work (see first fix and second fix carpentry above).

Carter’s will work together with your project team, making sure to slot in exactly as and when needed. This will help keep your refurbishment project moving.

CNC ROUTER

A Computer Numerical Control (CNC) router is a very handy piece of carpenter’s kit! Carter’s is very pleased to have one in the company’s workshop in Winchester. The CNC router allows the exact measurements of every wooden part to be typed in. From this, it calculates the most efficient cutting from a board, with minimum waste.

By using a CNC router, every conceivable bespoke item can be created. The customisations for Winchester Round Table’s Santa Sleigh are an example of this. The adapted sleigh was seen through the whole city in spring 2020, when it was used to collect food donations during lockdown.
